Best Time to Visit São Paulo
São Paulo's tropical climate means the city is warm year-round, but the timing of your visit matters. The city sits at 760 metres above sea level, which moderates temperatures to a comfortable 15–30°C range, but the rainy season from November through March brings frequent afternoon downpours and occasional flooding that can disrupt plans.
The dry season (April–September) is the most comfortable time to visit, with clear skies, lower humidity, and temperatures in the ideal 18–25°C range. June and July are the coolest months and coincide with the famous Festa Junina winter festivals — a beloved tradition of forró music, square dancing, and traditional food. The São Paulo Carnival in February is a spectacular event but coincides with the height of the rainy season. The São Paulo Art Biennial in October of even years is a major cultural draw.
